Graphic artist Susanne Köhler from Frankfurt graduated from the Offenbach University of Art and Design. She has been drawing our lives here and now with a sharp pen since 2012. These are, for example, practical recipes to cook, supplemented by stories from factory farming ("Das Comic Kochbuch"). She also makes fun of Nazis and Islamists ("Lügenpresse", "Post aus dem Syrienkrieg" in U-Comix), denounces politicians and car companies for air pollution ("Diesel & Cholera" at Comicaze) and doesn't shy away from brewing beer herself to then draw comic instructions (in "BIER - alles über den Durst" at Volk-Verlag). She has also created a harrowing short biography of an alcoholic ("Bruderherz" in Comic Cocktail). Susanne Köhler has a soft spot for architecture and is passionate about urban sketching. (We sketch our city as we experience it on site). Every year she publishes a calendar with motifs of her home town ("Frankfurt Urban Sketching"). She has been teaching her drawing technique in workshops for many years. In 2015, she founded the art project "Truth Fighters - Portraits of Murdered and Persecuted Journalists", a memorial to freedom of the press. It is a project open to all, in which numerous comic artists also participate. At the moment she honours Anton Bruckner in his anniversary year 2024 (Tisch 14).
