Illustratoren Organisation e.V.

The IO – Illustrators Organization e.V. – is the union for illustrators in German-speaking countries, currently consisting of around 3000 members (+ rising). It protects and promotes the economic, social and cultural interests of its members – which have always included well-known and, in recent years, increasingly numerous (also increasingly diverse) comic artists. The purpose of the IO includes negotiating common remuneration regulations, shaping the professional image of illustrators through public relations work and clarifying the cultural significance of illustrator work.
