Richard Cowdry

The British comic artist and author began his career in the early 2000s after studying illustration at Brighton University. Early recognition came with the newcomer award at the Sierre Comics Festival (2002). He went on to publish his own comic anthologies and taught at universities across the United Kingdom.

In the 2010s, he helped shape the London scene with the alternative comics newspaper The Comix Reader. His work has appeared in publications such as Vice, Oxford American, Stripburger, and The Stool Pigeon. In 2020, he won the ComicInvasionBerlin comics competition.

In his recent work, he focuses on historical non-fiction and science fiction. His first graphic novel, "The Secret of the Bones", was published in autumn 2025.
