Baobab Books

Baobab is the name of the monkey-bread tree in whose shade people tell each other stories. Baobab is also the name of the book programme in which picture books, children's stories and novels for young people from all over the world are published in German translation. It is published by Baobab Books, the specialist centre for the promotion of cultural diversity in children's and youth literature. At the centre of our work is the book, which as a cultural asset can convey social values in a more differentiated way than almost any other medium.
