There are days when there is no way around the challenges of life. When even the tried and tested distractions from the distractions are no longer helpful, it is time to face things. In the exhibition for her new book “Doing the Work”, comic-illustrator Nadine Redlich dedicates herself to the struggle of everyday existence in a humorous way. There will be prints, exhibits, and originals to marvel at, that offer insights into her artistic process and alternately make the viewer laugh and cry.

Nadine Redlich lives and works as a cartoonist in Düsseldorf. The publication of her style-defining “Ambient Comics” by Rotopol was followed by her soulful examination of the inner workings of stones in “Stones”, the hateful love letter “I Hate You – You Just Don't Know It Yet” and her meditation on fear in “Paniktotem”. Her illustrations and cartoons are available in The New York Times, DIE ZEIT, Süddeutsche Zeitung and Frieze Magazine.
