The creator of the character Rudi, Peter Puck, was born in 1960 in Heidenheim / Brenz. Later he studied Empirical Cultural Studies and Modern German Literature in Tübingen. His first Rudi-comic appeared in 1985; The series is still published nationwide in numerous city magazines monthly. In 2002, Puck was awarded the Max and Moritz-Prize for Best German-Language Comic Artist. The Egmont Comic Collection honors Rudi and his friends in the complete edition named the same way.
