Christiane Haas was born in Frankfurt am Main in 1985. She first studied communication design at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences and then illustration with ATAK (i.e. Georg Barber) at Burg Giebichenstein University in Halle in 2018/2019. After completing her diploma thesis, she moved to Leipzig in 2012, where she founded the Riso Club, an open risography printing workshop, together with friends. One year later, her debut book "Ich bin etwas komplett Neues - Eine Sammlung von Dingen die mich fanden" was published by Hermann Schmidt Verlag in Mainz.  Haas received the Hans Meid Foundation's sponsorship award for this book in 2013. Following various productions of her own, which were created in the Riso Club from 2013 to 2018, "Natürlich bist Du glücklich, wenn Du keine Erwartungen hast!" was published by avant-verlag in 2019, followed by "Im ewigen Kreis" in 2023. Her everyday observations lend events a disarming, sometimes touching charm. And they are super funny! She lives and works as a freelance illustrator in Leipzig.

"I want to make everyone in Christiane's drawings a sandwich or buy a disgusting bockwurst. Everyone is so adorably helpless and overwhelmed. I love every page!" Anna Haifisch
