Thomas Gronle

Thomas Gronle (Legron) was born in 1970 near Stuttgart, Germany. He studied at the University of Fine Arts in Saarbrücken and at the comic institute St. Luc in Brussels, Belgium. After completing his studies, he moved to Berlin and joined the artist group MOGA MOBO in 1999.
Together with Titus Ackermann and Jonas Greulich, he works as a freelance illustrator and comic artist at the MOGA MOBO Studio. His graphic novel "The Ritual" has recently been published by MOGA MOBO.
In addition, he develops characters for animation and creates illustrations for social institutions. His online comic "The Adventures of Dr. Nordten" won the Golden Avatar award at the Frankfurt Book Fair in 2003. In 2002, MOGA MOBO received the Max und Moritz Award at the International Comic Salon Erlangen in the category “Best German Publication.” His work has been shown in solo and group exhibitions, amongst others in Tokyo, Seoul, and Berlin. He also regularly teaches comic workshops at AID Berlin.
