Helena Baumeister was born in Frankfurt am Main in 1998. She is studying illustration at the University of Applied Sciences in Hamburg. She was a member of the management team of the Hamburg Comic Festival for several years. Her regular collaboration with Jill Pastore led to the creation of the artists' collective Bubette. After several self-published zines, Baumeister's comic debut "oh cupid", for which she already received the Hamburg Literature Prize for "Best Comic" in 2021, will be published by avant-verlag in March 2023. At the Munich Comic Festival, the book was honoured with a Peng! award for "Best German Comic"!
