Santa Kakese lives and works in Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo. She completed her Masters in Visual Communication at the Académie des Beaux-Arts in Kinshasa and works as a comic artist, caricaturist and illustrator. In 2016 she won a prize in the competition “Young Democrats” of the Carter Center, and in 2018 she participated in the exhibition “Pencil Strokes for Human Rights” at the Institut Français Kinshasa. Santa Kakese has published several comic books, where she is in charge of storytelling, artistic design and distribution. Her auteur comics were represented at the African comic festival SABDAM 2019 in the National Museum of Kinshasa, among others.
