Thomas von Kummant
Thomas von Kummant, born in 1972, attended the "Deutsche Meisterschule für Mode" in Munich and became a member of the Munich studio community "Die Artillerie" in 1999. In the same year, he drew a comic biography about Johann Wolfgang von Goethe on behalf of the Goethe-Institut, a project during which he met Benjamin von Eckartsberg. The two then decided to produce comics together in the future: Their first own co-production, the comic adaptation of the novel "Die Chronik der Unsterblichen" by Wolfgang Hohlbein, immediately caused a sensation when it appeared in 2004. Their latest comic series "Gung Ho" was produced directly for the French comic market and will be published parallel to the German edition by the Swiss publisher Paquet. In addition to comic art, Thomas von Kummant works as an illustrator for agencies, publishers and magazines and as a visual consultant and art director for various film productions. He has been working in his studio near Munich since 2014.
