Flix, born in 1976, lives and works as a freelance illustrator and comic artist in Berlin. He studied communication design and made his debut with Carlsen with his final project "held". Further comics with autobiographical elements followed. His newspaper series "Da war mal was..." and "Schöne Töchter" (both Tagesspiegel), "Faust" and "Don Quijote" (both F.A.Z.) are available as book editions, as is the children's comic series "Ferdinand", which appears as a joint product with Ralph Ruthe in SPIEGEL's children's magazine Dein SPIEGEL. Flix currently publishes the newspaper comic "Glückskind" every Monday in the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. In 2018, with "Spirou in Berlin", Flix became the first German-language artist to realise an adventure for the Franco-Belgian series. With "Das Humboldt-Tier", an adventure from the Marsupilami universe followed. His latest title "Das Zyx", a crazy ABC book in rhymes has just been published by Kibitz. Flix's work has won many awards, including the Max und Moritz Prize and the PENG! Prize, and has been translated into various languages.
