Sheree Domingo is a comic artist, illustrator and visual mediator. Her diverse repertoire includes fictional and (auto)biographical graphic novels as well as works in the field of science communication, visual recordings and various illustrations and comics, which have appeared in the Berliner Zeitung, among others. Her comic debut "Ferngespräch" was published by Edition Moderne in 2019 and was awarded the Grimmelshausen Prize for Literature in 2021. This was followed in 2022 by "Madame Choi und die Monster" (Edition Moderne), for which she received the Berthold Leibinger Stiftung Comic Book Prize together with author Patrick Spät. In her multi-layered works, Sheree Domingo tells of both the abysses and the beauty of life: lightness and heaviness, reality and fantasy, politics and poetry come together in her touching, empathetic stories and combine the extraordinary with the everyday. The wide range of Sheree Domingo's work is also reflected in her drawing style, which varies between simple black and white drawings and colorful watercolours. Friendship, solidarity and shared dialog are particularly important to her. This is reflected not only in the personal, intersectional and socially critical themes that she addresses in her work, but also in her numerous collaborative projects.
