Born on 23 February 1965 near Verona, lives and works in Milan. Since 1982, Bacilieri has managed the feat of working successfully for the Italian publisher Bonelli within the mainstream (Dylan Dog, Napoleone), while also inspiring a growing readership with his own sophisticated graphic novels. He is one of the most productive and respected comic authors in Italy. Several of his works have also been published in Germany, including "Fun", a meticulously researched chronicle and at the same time a playful literary crime novel, "Sweet Salgari" about the Italian Karl May: Emilio Salgari, and just this March "Private Venus", all three published by avant-verlag.
